The fifteenth annual Southeastern Regional Equipment Operators’ Safety Conference will be hosted by the Tennessee Department of Transportation. The aim of the Southeastern Regional Equipment Operators’ Safety Conference is to provide safety training and promote skill advancement for employees whose jobs require the operation of heavy equipment. As such, the primary goal is to increase the safety awareness level of heavy equipment operators working in or around work zones. To accomplish this goal, operators are required to attend specific safety training classes during the conference which includes judging horizontal and vertical clearances while operating equipment and determining employee’s knowledge regarding pre-trip inspections.
